A lifelong New Yorker and nonconformist, Sara has been grinding out art in many commercial fields for over a decade. As a young art school graduate, she worked as a product photographer for collectible art-toy powerhouse Kidrobot; she also designed a few Dunnys and an original vinyl figure, El Chupacabra (ghost and regular edition). Her next role was as an artist assistant to Tara McPherson; at the same time, she apprenticed under Adam Suerte and Willie Paredes at Brooklyn Tattoo. All the while, she was drawing—illustrating for clients like Mishka NYC, Topps and Mastodon/Global Merch Services, showing in galleries such as Last Rites, MF Gallery, and Cotton Candy Machine, and sketching out her next client's tattoo.
Sara curated her first exhibit at MF Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. "Handbills of Subversion - Tremendous Art from Losers, Nasty Women and The Gays" opened on January 20th, 2017 and featured over 70 artists exhibiting handbill size work. The show raised almost $4,000 for Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.
Tattooist, Painter, Illustrator, Curator
I work at Brooklyn Tattoo in Carroll Gardens and specialize in illustrative 'traditional-ish' style tattoos. I enjoy working with bold lines and bright colors in a variety of subject matter including cats, monsters, floral designs, girls girls girls, and mandalas.
I am also open for illustration jobs and commissions, especially music/movie/entertainment posters and apparel projects!
